The Navajo Nation is a semi-autonomous Native American-governed territory covering 26,000 square miles, occupying all of northeastern Arizona, the southeastern portion of Utah, and northwestern New Mexico. It is the largest land area assigned primarily to a Native American jurisdiction within the United States. The tribal Trust lands have no private land ownerships, and all Tribal Trust land is owned in common and administered by the Nation's government. |
