| Pucon is at the east end of Lago Villarica, between the estuary of the Rio Pucon to the north and Volcan Villarica to the south. Our plan revolved around climbing the 2,847 m (9,338 ft) Volcan Villarica. While we had climbed higher altitudes before, we did not have much ice climbing experience and were looking for a guided trip to the top. However, bad weather resulted in the cancellation of the trip. We picked an alternative and visited the El Cani sanctuary. We also spent an afternoon horseriding on a trip to Salto Claro. |
