| Fruitillar (pop. 15000) is known for its well preserved German architecture and its annual music festival (the park promenade by Lake Llanquihue has tall musical note signs). It is 40 km. north of Puerto Montt. Right across the lake is the perfectly symmetrical cone of Volcan Osorno. |
