Everest Base Camp 2008 - Day 12

Day 12: Saturday, November 1, 2008

Starting point : Namche Bazaar (Altitude: 3440m/11320ft. Start Time: 8:30 am) End point : Phakding (Altitude: 2586m/8487ft. End Time: 12:30 pm)

It was Saturday allowing us to spend a few minutes at the Saturday market at Namche.

We hit the trail and covered the vertical drop to Jorsalle. We did stop again for our final views of Everest and Lhotse (not quite! we were lucky enough to get left window seats on our return flight to Singapore and we got our final views of the Himalayas including Everest, Lhotse and Makalu).

Back in the See You Lodge at Phakding. We thought about carrying on all the way to Lukla, but we saw no reason to do that. Moreover, we remembered that it was uphill. We'll wait another day.
