5:30 pm.: The "Death Trap" with Abbot Pass Hut on top. The Pass itself, and the hut that sits atop it, is named after Philip Abbot, who died in 1896 while attempting to summit Mount Lefroy (to the left) - the first recorded mountaineering fatality in North America.
